RF MICRO THERAPY
Microneedling combined with RF-Energy is a newer, go-to non-surgical skin rejuvenation procedure that does it all!
It is being used around the world to help people’s skin tighten, lift and plump, reduce wrinkles, shrink pores and get rid of acne scars and other blemishes on your face and other parts of the body. Wow!
One of the main benefits of RF Microneedling is that it has minimal downtime yet provides an abundance of collagen building.
It is considered a non-invasive procedure, causes minor discomfort, and has virtually no downtime to the patient.
The fractional RF technology treats the target area through the rapid penetration of multiple insulated micro-needles.
Although you would think it would be extremely painful, with the appropriate numbing cream, it is quite tolerable.
The beauty of RF Microneedling is that it does not cause extensive damage to the surface of your skin – the epidermis. Therefore, you will have little to no bruising. Typical windburn type redness will dissipate in a day or two.
Once at the desired depth in your skin, these microneedles then release laser energy below the skin surface. The energy signals your body to stimulate new collagen growth.
Over the next three months the skin reacts by creating new collagen and elastin.
RF Microneedling is a game changer for skin rejuvenation – Big impact with little to no downtime!
But before you decide to opt for RF Microneedling to combat your own skin problems, here are five things you must know –
1) HOW DOES RF MICRONEEDLING WORK?
A cluster of thin fine needles penetrate into the skin at the appropriate collagen stimulation depth for that area.
The radiofrequency energy is then released into the skin layer. Microneedling with RF works by causing direct deep stimulation into the skin . This induces production of more collagen.
Through the action of the micro-needles, a thermal injury is created with tiny columns. This injury causes the body to react and kick into a healing mode. This in turn is what generates collagen production.
Depending on the patient’s skin laxity and issues, our laser specialist will select an appropriate depth of microneedle penetration.
Microneedle depths can vary from .5mm to 4.0mm deep.
Entry into the skin with RF Microneedling causes a natural response to produce new collagen-rich tissue.
Generation of new, collagen-rich tissue tightens skin, reduces scars, wrinkles, stretch marks and fine lines in the skin.
This thus improves the overall texture and appearance of your skin.
If you suffer from acne, RF Microneedling can also reduce oil production in your skin by shrinking the sebaceous gland.
Texture, pores and scars can also be improved. This is a great benefit to active acne and acne scars.
2) WHAT PROBLEMS MAY BE TREATED WITH RADIOFREQUENCY MICRONEEDLING?
RF Microneedling is most commonly used to combat problems typically reserved for surgical procedures in the past.
Most face areas can be treated, as well as the body areas to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars.
At Body Oasis, we can address a variety of issues with RF Microneedling –
-
Forehead wrinkles – Fine lines, frown lines, wrinkles and creasing of the skin in the forehead area
-
Droopy eyes & wrinkles – Loose eyelids, creepy under eye skin, fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet.
-
Neck Skin Tightening – Tighten and lift laxity in neck area.
-
Arm Skin Tightening – The infamous bat wings can be tightened.
-
Acne Scars – Scars on the cheeks or any other area of the face caused by excessive acne and other ailments.
-

-

3) WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF RF MICRONEEDLING?
As RF Microneedling is considered a non-invasive procedure, the risk and downtime involved are minimal.
Not just that, even the discomfort involved in RF Microneedling is next to non-existent.
One of the most common side-effect felt by most patients is a little skin irritation and redness of the skin.
However, typical discomfort of the skin generally last 2-24 hours post the procedure.
If you experience any of the below post the procedure, you must consult your doctor –
-
Bleeding
-
Bruising
-
Infection
-
Peeling of skin
Also, if any of the below mentioned conditions apply to you, you would not be a candidate for RF Microneedling –
-
Pregnancy/lactation
-
Auto immune disease
-
Metal Implants
-
Defibrillator
-
Pacemaker
-
Cancer
-
Skin disease
4) WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PROCEDURE IS OVER?
As mentioned above, recovery and downtime in a RF Microneedling procedure is minimal. Most patients are able to resume their daily lives immediately after treatment is complete.
However, it is natural to experience some redness and irritation in the treated area for a few hours to the next day.
We recommend generous use of sunscreen lotion as the skin is recuperating and is more susceptible to sunburn immediately after the procedure.
5) When will I see results after RF Microneedling ?
Usually, a RF Microneedling procedure can show results as soon as a few days, but further results develop as your body begins to produce collagen.
The tightening effect and final results are going to appear gradually over six months – which is the time taken by the skin to fully rebuild itself.
To maximize on achieving a full face collagen restoration and rebuilding effect we suggest a customized treatment plan which includes 3 RF Microneedling sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
